Prior to retiring in 2013 and moving back to Montana in 2015, Robert served as the oilfield services analyst for Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers, an $8 billion hedge fund.  While at Weiss, Robert’s performance on the energy fund resulted in him making Partner in the firm in record time.

Before joining Weiss, Robert served at Sterne, Agee & Leach Inc., a brokerage firm.  During his tenure at SALI, Robert was rated the #1 oilfield service analyst in the United States for 2005 by the Wall Street Journal, StarMine, and Zach’s Investment Research.

Prior to joining Sterne, Agee & Leach, Robert served at Sanders Morris Harris as well as CIBC Oppenheimer where he was considered the valuation expert of both brokerages’ oilfield service research teams.  He was also involved with investment banking efforts related to mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, stock offerings, and private company fundraising.

Before joining CIBC Oppenheimer, Robert served as an analyst for the Montana Board of Investments in Helena, Montana where he valued numerous public companies in the heavy machinery, engineering and construction, homebuilding, building materials, integrated oil, exploration and production, oilfield service, refining, and natural gas industries.

Prior to becoming a valuation analyst, Robert served for 10 years as an infantry officer in the United States Army.  He led a rifle platoon in the 2^nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea to include duty in the Demilitarized Zone.  He also led a ranger platoon in the 2nd Battalion, 75^th Ranger Regiment, to include spearheading Operation Just Cause.  He also served as a Company Executive Officer there.  Robert then commanded an extremely successful rifle company and served as a Division Battle Captain in the 25^th Infantry Division (Light).

Robert has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.  He is married with two sons.
